Preston faithfully attends our Good News Club®. He arrives early and offers help. As he assist me he will share about his world and the challenges he faces. The other day he surprised me to say he didn’t know about sin until he came to our club.
We all want to sweep sin under the rug and pretend it doesn’t exist don’t we? That’s one reason the Bible describes sin as darkness. Even in church, we observe a reluctance to mention sin.
I remember during a Gospel Presentation I mentioned to a group of children that even I struggle with sin. One little child, full of surprise said, “You sinned? Name one, just one!” I wish I only had one sin to name! Unfortunately, I battle temptations daily. I am so thankful to know Christ who won the victory for me through His death, burial, and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:55-57).
While sin is not a popular topic in today’s society, our world definitely suffer from the effects of sin! That’s why we regularly teach about sin in our Bible classes. How will children realize their need for a Savior or how to overcome sin, if they don’t even know about sin?
This week, I will post tips regarding teaching sin to children. Subscribe to our blog in the box on your right to receive an email when we post a new blog. You can also like us on Facebook or Follow us on Twitter. (Your support through social media or our webpage helps us!)
