As you know, there is power in prayer, especially when we pray and believe God’s promises in scripture.  Can you imagine the difference you can make in our world if you truly humble yourself and pray with no preconceived agenda, seeking God’s face rather than His hand, and turning from your wicked, worldly ways?

A pastor of a para-church ministry invites you to join in a worldwide prayer effort. It is a request for you to join with other Christians around the world in setting aside about an hour during the week of July 10-16, 2016 to pray according to 2 Chronicles 7:14. Use the guide during a regular service, a special call to prayer, or as individuals. See a prayer guide for focused prayer below or download one for distribution using the link below or click here.

With your participation, there is potential for believers praying 2 Chronicles 7:14, 24 hours a day for seven days around the world. As a word-of-mouth and social media driven effort to get the message out, we need your assistance. We are asking that you share this with your local church and Bible study groups, as well as Christian friends and family. Organize a prayer group for sometime during the week ofJuly 10-16. The possibilities are endless.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

God Bless You,
Phil and Debbie Smith

Suggested Guide to Praying 2 Chronicles 7:14
(Week of July 10 – 16)

MISSION STATEMENT
Recognizing that Jesus Christ is our One and Only Savior, and believing in the power of prayer, we join together as His followers in one Spirit to pray in one accord.
~~~~~~  Read out loud to the prayer group
2 Chronicles 7:14  (NIV)  If my people, called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
IF  – A choice by us (God’s promise is contingent on what we do)
My people called by my name – the people adopted into God’s family through the blood of Jesus Christ
will humble themselves – acknowledge that we are nothing without Jesus Christ, set aside selfish desires and pursuits
and pray – communicate with Holy God openly with faith, asking His will, His way, in His time
and seek my face  – seek to worship God through praise and thanksgiving
and turn from their wicked ways  – repent of sin and self, setting aside disobedience and following Him
THEN – and ONLY then
I will hear from heaven – God will respond to His children who seek Him with a true heart
and will forgive their sin – He will restore the relationship with His repentant children
and will heal their land  – He will meet our needs in the way He knows thats best for us
~~~~~~~  Read out loud, then give a short time for personal prayer and reflection.
Personal Preparation Individual personal prayer time.

Not “Bless me Lord,” but “Speak to me Lord.”
Examine whether you surrendered to the Lord.  Are you totally surrendered?  Is He your Lord? Seek Him to lead you as we continue to pray.  Ask His will about what to pray and how to pray.  Ask Him what ‘land’ He wants to heal in your life.
~~~~~~~  Read each line then pause for personal prayer (aloud or silent). After each section, a prayer leader could say a prayer addressing that topic.
“If My people called by My name”
Pray for – Christians in your city, your state, your nation
              – Christians in Federal, State, and Local Government
  – Denominational leaders, Pastors & staff
“will humble themselves”
           Pray that – we would be submissive and die to self
                           – we would be stripped of pride and Jesus would be Lord
“and pray”        – that men would always pray and not lose heart   Lk 18:1
                           – that we would have the faith of a child as we pray
              – to have a burden for the lost, a desire for revival
                           – for a deeper trust in God
                           – for a renewed understanding of God’s power
“seek My face”
Pray for – the Holy Spirit to lead us
                          – a deeper relation with Christ
                          – all deception revealed and replaced with truth
                          – understanding of our true needs and giving them to Jesus
“turn from our wicked ways”
Pray for repentance – of unbelief, lack of vision, complacently
                    – of selfishness, for putting the things of the world ahead of Jesus
        – of specific personal sins, lack of obedience toward God
                                             – of jealousy among churches
“heal our land”
Pray that – God would teach us to resist the evil one from our presence
                            – we will aggressively in reclaim our homes, children, families (our land)
