One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4
In the Hebrew language Psalm 145 is an acrostic poem; making the poem easy for Hebrew children to memorize. Verse four emphasizes the importance of commending God’s works to the next generation. The Psalmist goes on to list many attributes of God that children need to learn. To make things easy for English-speaking children to remember, I adapted the Psalm into the English alphabet. This is a great tool you can use to teach your child about our awesome God. Perhaps you could focus on one attribute for the day or the week. Your children will enjoy thinking of other attributes to describe God using the alphabet. Have fun!
