Valentine Sunday School Lesson for Kids

I talked to my friend yesterday and she expressed the need for some ideas for teaching a Christian Valentine Lesson for kids at a 4-hour event.

Are you in need of ideas too? First, it’s a great time to review John 3:16 with the children. Here’s a great John 3:16 Valentine I found on the web!

God's Valentine

I also adapted it for a coloring activity for the children and you can download the coloring page here. God’s Valentine Color Page

If you google John 3:16 song on YouTube, you will discover several versions of the song! I especially like the one LifeWay created for the Big Apple VBS (Kids love this one).

I also like the Rizer Family version too.

For a great activity, make some red play dough (with peppermint flavoring for scent) and while the kids create sculptures with their play dough you can review the bible verse and get them to recite it from memory one at a time.

Be sure to talk about the meaning of the verse and how God loves each of us individually and the awesome way he showed His love for each one of us. For younger children, let them include their name in the verse, “For God so loved (child’s name)…”

What special lessons do you teach for Valentine’s Day?
